 Mothers day comes on the second Sunday in May, this years it's May the 9th. It is traditional to give flowers and chocolates for Mothers Day, and, maybe breakfast in bed. The most traditional mothers day flower is a carnation, however many people give chrysanthemum flowers (for obvious reasons!)
Chrysanthemum flowers or chrysanthemum floral arrangements provide a large and vibrant burst of colour. They make a great statement and have a real presence in any environment.
Getting flowers delivered on Mothers day can be the real challenge, it is traditionally the busiest day of the year for florists (just in front of Valentines Day Flowers on February the 14th each year). Most florists will be sold out of their stock on the actual day of Mothers Day, some will be sold out even before, so it's important to order your flower delivery in advance. If you leave it too late your often forced to buying the worst of the flowers at the highest of prices, nobody wins!
If you mother has a favorite flower (and a little bit of sleuthing or asking relatives should make it easy to find out) then that's the flower to buy her. If she has no preference then the traditional flowers will be fine. You may even look at non traditional presents, like a free sky diving lesson! How about a chauffeur driven limo to the movies?
Flowers are the most direct way to a womans heart and mothers day flowers doubly so!
